There will many times during your quitting process that you will be offered a cigarette. The best method to deal with such situations is to prepare for them in advance, this is crucial at the very beginning when deciding to quit.
If someone offers you a cigarette, you can:
1) Simply say nicely: "No thank you, I quit".
2) Explain to the person that you have quit and request for their support.
3) Remove yourself from situations where people are smoking if possible.
4) Have mints or chewing gum on your on and use them instead.
5) Remind yourself that you are a non-smoker.
Ensuring that you are ready for any situation will greatly enhance your chances of success and never forget, that you can do it.
